Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule a tour or learn more?

You can easily request a tour or contact our team using our contact form or by giving us a call.

Do you Accept CFI / Medicaid?

Yes. Subject to qualifications, assessment and availability, we do accept CFI / Medicaid toward resident fees in most of our homes.

Does My Loved One Need Assisted Living or Memory Care?

It’s a common and important question—and one many families ask earlier than they expect.

Assisted living is often the right choice when a loved one:

  • Needs help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, medication reminders, or meals
  • Is feeling isolated or struggling to manage safely at home
  • Has mobility challenges or a history of falls
  • Would benefit from daily structure, support, and social connection

Memory care may be more appropriate when a loved one:

  • Has a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia
  • Experiences frequent confusion, disorientation, or wandering
  • Struggles with short-term memory, judgment, or recognizing familiar people or places
  • Shows changes in behavior, mood, or safety awareness

In many cases, the difference comes down to memory-related safety and supervision needs. Memory care provides specialized programming, trained caregivers, and a secure environment designed specifically to support cognitive changes.

If you’re unsure, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. We are here to help families understand the level of support that will best meet their loved one’s needs.

Are meals included in the monthly fee?

Yes. Your monthly fee includes three nutritious, chef-prepared meals each day, along with snacks and refreshments available throughout the day. Meals are thoughtfully prepared to support both enjoyment and nutritional needs, with accommodations for dietary preferences and physician-recommended diets whenever possible. Our Chef crafts our meal plans around a Mediterranean Heart Healthy Program enhancing our holistic approach to eldercare.

Can residents personalize their suites?

Absolutely. We encourage residents to make their suites feel like home. You’re welcome to bring your own furniture, hang pictures or artwork, and decorate your space in a way that reflects your personal style.

For the care of the suite, painting is not permitted, and we ask that proper, non-damaging hooks or hanging methods are used when displaying items. Any significant wall damage requiring extensive repair may be deducted from the security deposit.

Our goal is for every resident to feel comfortable, settled, and truly at home in their space.

What activities are offered for residents?

We offer engaging, meaningful activities across all of our homes, designed to support social connection, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being.

At Johnson Creek Village, residents enjoy a robust, structured activities program with a full calendar of group events, wellness offerings, and social programming.

In our residential-style homes, activities take a more intimate, personalized approach. Residents participate in staff-led and small-group activities such as bingo, word games, music, crafts, and family-style gatherings. Programming is flexible and often tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and daily rhythms.

Regardless of setting, our focus is on creating opportunities for connection, purpose, and enjoyment—while honoring each resident’s preferences and comfort level.

Do you offer respite or short-term stays?

Yes, we provide several respite options. We understand caring for an aging loved one takes a level of commitment that can be overwhelming and stressful. You take a well-deserved break, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Short term stay up to 30 days. Options and rates vary from home to home.

Ask about our Respite Club Membership Programs for discounts.

What is Holistic Care?

Holistic care is an approach that focuses on the whole person, not just physical needs. It recognizes that well-being includes emotional, social, mental, and spiritual health in addition to medical support.

In practice, holistic care means:

  • Supporting physical health through personalized care, nutrition, and wellness
  • Nurturing emotional well-being through meaningful relationships and compassionate caregiving
  • Encouraging social connection, purpose, and engagement
  • Honoring each individual’s personal history, preferences, routines, and values

By caring for the whole person, holistic care helps residents feel supported, respected, and truly at home—while promoting dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

What is the Montesorri Inspired Lifestyle?

The Montessori-Inspired Lifestyle is a person-centered approach to memory care that focuses on preserving independence, dignity, and purpose at every stage of cognitive change.

Rather than doing things for residents, we support them in doing things with us—at a pace and level that feels comfortable and achievable. Daily life is designed to engage remaining abilities and strengths, not focus on what has been lost.

This approach emphasizes:

  • Familiar routines and meaningful roles that create a sense of purpose
  • Hands-on activities that support cognitive engagement and motor skills
  • Choice and independence whenever safely possible
  • Respect for each resident’s history, preferences, and lifelong skills

By creating an environment where residents feel capable, valued, and involved, the Montessori-Inspired Lifestyle helps reduce anxiety, encourage connection, and promote a greater sense of well-being.

What is the Caregiver Relief Club (CRC) Membership?

To better meet the needs of caregivers we’ve developed a membership program that offers flexibility, certainty and savings. Joining the Club entitles you to all the benefits of our normal respite care, but at a significant discount. Additionally, you get the flexibility of dropping your loved one off for as little as an hour anytime throughout the year. Call or email us for more details about this opportunity.
